Tiwani Contemporary extends its international programme to include an artists research residency programme. Since 2022, Tiwani Contemporary has become a Residency and Fellowship Supporter of Guest Artists Space, Lagos, Nigeria - an initiative of the Yinka Shonibare Foundation, which supports fellowships for emerging artists from the African Continent.
Artists are invited for a period of one month to take up residence at either G.A.S Lagos in Lekki or G.A.S. Farmhouse near Ijebu, two hours from Lagos, to conduct self-led, supported research, and to participate in activities organised by Tiwani Contemporary and G.A.S. that will introduce, inform and network them to the Lagosian arts ecosystem and resources.
Participants are invited to contribute to the G.A.S. public programme during their residency, and are also invited to present new work at Tiwani Contemporary, Lagos.
