Tiwani Contemporary is pleased to present Whose Am I? I Am Not My Own (Ndiri Waani? Handisi Muridzi Wangu) by Virginia Chihota. At the centre of the exhibition is a suite of serigraphic works from the artist’s latest series ‘Uri Mwana Wani?’ shown originally in a solo exhibition by the artist at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe (2019). Whose Am I? I Am Not My Own (Ndiri Waani? Handisi Muridzi Wangu) presents new explorations on linen alongside smaller recent works on paper. The presentation coincides with a new forthcoming commission for Opera de Paris’s production of Aida by Giuseppe Verdi scheduled to open to the public in Paris, France in February 2021.
